Model Management.
Booking Policies and Procedures
Photography Rates: One
hour minimum; sessions running beyond time booked are computed in
fifteen minute increments. Booking
length must be specified at the time of booking and shall constitute
the minimum billing time. Adult models are billed at a rate of $250
per hour plus usage unless other arrangements are made. Rates for
child models will be negotiated. R&L and model must be informed as to the client,
advertising agency, end use, special use and product information at
the time of booking.
Overtime: Day rates
are for any eight consecutive hours; bookings running in excess of
eight hours will be charged at time and one-half. Bookings or portions thereof before 9:00am and/or after
6:00pm are time and one-half.
Saturday: Time and
one-half.
Sunday and Holidays: Will
be negotiated.
Fitting Sessions: Full
fee; one-half hour minimum. On
set / on location styling and make-up: full fee.
Weather Permit: Must
be stated at the time of the booking. Type of weather must be specified.
Cancellation prior to booking day is at no charge, provided
it is re-booked at the time of cancellation. Same-day cancellation is half fee, provided it is re-booked
at the time of cancellation. Otherwise,
regular cancellation rates apply.
Cancellations: More
than one full work day in advance, no fee. Less than one full work day and rescheduled, half fee.
Not rescheduled, full fee. At location, full fee.
Tentative Bookings: Clients
holding tentative bookings will be given the right of first refusal.
Travel Time: Travel
time to locations which are outside Manhattan will be billed at the
full hourly rate unless otherwise negotiated. Travel expenses for
jobs outside Manhattan must be paid by the client. Travel time and rate must be discussed and confirmed prior to
the shooting schedule.
Special Rates: Slips,
peignoirs – rate and one-half . Bras, girdles, panties, pantyhose, men’s underwear –
double rates. Nudes –
negotiated.
Editorial: Mainstream
publications which offer our models substantial tear sheets may
qualify for "editorial rates" substantially below our
normal commercial rates. All such rates are negotiated, are
contingent upon receipt of such tear sheets, and are at the
discretion of R&L and the model. Publishers wishing to hire our
models who do not provide tearsheets will be charged commercial
rates.
Non-Union TV/Film: contracts
negotiated on a project or daily basis. Check with our office for particulars and options.
Rates vary by performance category and media.
Union TV/Film: Contracts
will be negotiated through a union-franchised talent agency.
Usage: All rights
granted are contingent upon receipt of all fees including agency
service charges. Rights
released are only those specifically enumerated and marked on the
release/contract-billing authorization provided by the models.
All other rights are reserved. Use fees must be negotiated for billboards, posters,
packaging, POP’s, national retail magazine/newspaper ads,
international uses, FSI’s, stills for television, exclusivity, use
of name and/or other similar special uses. All uses for print are for a one year period unless otherwise
specified. If use fees
have been negotiated, options for such use must be exercised within
60 days of the signing of the contract or said fees will be subject
to re-negotiation.
Wardrobe: Models/talent
for commercial print/film will provide a maximum of 3 “generic”
outfits. Specific
wardrobe is the responsibility of the stylist or client.
Releases: Contacts
will be provided by the models/actors. All other releases invalid unless reviewed and signed by an
officer of R&L.
Conflicts: Please
check with R&L regarding possible product conflicts. We will provide you with the most accurate information
available to us. We do
not, however, guarantee or warranty the accuracy of the information.
Service Charge: A
service charge of twenty percent (20%) will be added to all
model/talent fees, use fees or renegotiated fees. Overdue accounts will be charged at the rate of 2% per month
of the unpaid balance. In
the event of non-payment, all collection costs (including any legal
expenses and court fees) will be the responsibility of the client,
advertising agency or their representatives.
Client Liability: In
accordance with the custom and practice within the industry, model
and R&L will accept the signature of the photographer, studio
employee, or agent of the client as binding upon the advertising
agency, publication, or sponsor for whom this work is performed.
Any and all parties contracting for models’ services are
considered to be acting as agent for the client specified in the
R&L Model Release/Billing Collection Authorization. R&L reserves the right of recourse to the named client in
regard to payment, use, etc.
Employer Liability: Models
are not the employees of R&L.
